What changed in Update 1.0.6?

Twelve changes, published by the developer on 26 August 2026. Several of them retire advice that older guides still give.

Quick answer

Update 1.0.6 went live on 26 August 2026. It gives the Panel Rack its own keybind and stops it dispensing a second panel on its own, lets you crouch in mid-air to come down faster, puts grid and rotation finesse on the action key, adds recall for some lost or stuck unique tools, makes saving more reliable, moves the game to Godot 4.7.2 to fix low frame rates on high-polling-rate mice, and fixes portals, the main ending, the fuses, the shift scheduler and lava.

What changed

  • The Panel Rack has its own keybind and no longer dispenses another panel automatically — you press again for the next one.
  • You can now crouch while in the air to get back to the ground faster.
  • The action key, Q by default, now changes the grid and rotation finesse.
  • Some unique tools can now be recalled when they are lost or stuck.
  • Saving is more reliable, which the developer says may fix some rare crashes, and stores all values better.
  • A visual bug on the antenna while using the Remote is fixed.
  • The game now runs on Godot 4.7.2, which fixes low frame rates with a high-polling-rate mouse.
  • Portals no longer teleport fixed tools.
  • Finishing the main ending should no longer leave you stuck when you continue the last save.
  • Fuses return to their spawn position when you save, unless they have been placed.
  • Shift scheduler inconsistencies are fixed.
  • Lava now respawns tools lost in it.

Steps

  1. Close the game so Steam can apply the update published on 26 August 2026.
  2. Reopen a save and check the pause menu keybinds: the Panel Rack now has an entry of its own.
  3. If you had been avoiding the lava or writing off a lost tool, look for it again before rebuilding one.
  4. If you follow a guide written before 26 August, treat its advice on panels, portals and the shift scheduler as possibly out of date.

Requirements / limits

  • The announcement names the date and the behaviour changes. It does not publish a numeric build number you can check in-game.
  • The recall applies to “some unique tools”. The developer does not list which ones.
  • The saving change is described as making rare crashes less likely, not as fixing a specific reported crash.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming the Panel Rack still hands you panels continuously. After 1.0.6 it waits for another press.
  • Reading a launch-week guide as current. Four of these twelve items change behaviour that guides written between 19 and 25 August describe.
  • Treating “more reliable saving” as a reason to stop saving manually before a risky build.

Still unverified

  • Which unique tools can be recalled? Not verifiedThe changelog says “some unique tools” and names none. No later source lists them.
  • What exactly does grid and rotation finesse change? Not verifiedThe changelog states that the action key now changes it. It does not say what the levels are or what each one snaps to.
