What is the Panel Rack, and why did its behaviour change?
Added in Update 1.0.5, changed twice since. If it feels different from the guide you are reading, that is why.
Quick answer
The Panel Rack is an upgrade with multiple levels, added in Update 1.0.5 on 22 August 2026, that lets you carry more than one panel at a time. Update 1.0.6 on 26 August gave it its own keybind and stopped it dispensing another panel automatically — you press the bind again for the next panel.
Steps
- Buy the Panel Rack upgrade from the upgrade terminal; it has more than one level.
- Open the keybind settings and find the Panel Rack entry added in Update 1.0.6.
- Press that bind once to take a panel. Press it again for the next one.
- Place the panels as normal; the rack changes how many you carry, not how they stick.
Requirements / limits
- The developer describes the upgrade as multi-level and as carrying “more than one panel at a time”. No published source states how many panels each level holds.
- A hotfix pushed after Update 1.0.5 fixed what the developer called erratic behaviour of the rack panel, so builds between 22 and 26 August behaved differently again.
- Since 1.0.6 the rack does not hand you a second panel on its own. That is the intended behaviour, not a bug.
Common mistakes
- Reporting the one-panel-per-press behaviour as a regression. The 26 August changelog states it deliberately.
- Following a guide recorded between 22 and 25 August, when the rack still auto-dispensed.
- Expecting the rack to make panels stay in place. That is the Sticky Tools upgrade, which is separate.
Still unverified
- How many panels does each Panel Rack level carry? Not verifiedUpdate 1.0.5 says the upgrade has multiple levels and carries more than one panel. Neither changelog gives a number per level.
