How does the trading machine work?

A skill check disguised as a gamble. The pay-out curve is documented; the risk is not.

Quick answer

You click Roll and then click Stop, and the closer to zero you stop the counter, the better the return. A community reference published 25 August 2026 gives the concrete case: stopping at 0.001 pays 9.99 times, which it describes as getting 99% of your money back.

Steps

  1. Find the Trading station, which the same reference's author says arrives during Phase 3 as part of progression.
  2. Click Roll to start the counter.
  3. Click Stop as close to zero as you can manage.
  4. Read the multiplier, not the raw number: 0.001 is documented as paying 9.99x.

Requirements / limits

  • The mechanic and the 0.001 / 9.99x figure come from one community reference. No developer source documents the machine.
  • The same author frames 9.99x as returning 99% of the money put in, which means the machine is not a straightforward profit engine at that point on the curve.
  • The Trading tool is listed as single-level, so there is no upgrade documented that changes the odds.

Common mistakes

  • Treating a high multiplier as profit without accounting for what the roll cost.
  • Confusing the trading machine with gambling crates. Crates return items by type; the trading machine returns money by timing.

Still unverified

  • What is the full pay-out curve? Not verifiedOnly the 0.001 case is published. No source gives the multiplier at other stopping points.
