How do I throw items farther in Project P.I.T.T.?

The game's own throw prompt lists the scroll wheel as the distance control; players call the combined technique a scroll toss.

Quick answer

Scroll to set distance before you throw. The in-game throw prompt lists snap mode, free rotate, reset position and "scroll, distance", and a player aiming at a target reads "scroll for power" off the same interface. Scrolling the item out and adding your own movement to the release throws far farther than a standing right-click.

Steps

  1. Pick the item up and look at the on-screen throw prompt.
  2. Scroll to push the held item out. This is the distance control the prompt names.
  3. Line the item up. The same prompt carries snap mode, free rotate and reset position for the placement half of the same control set.
  4. Throw with the right mouse button.
  5. Add your own motion. A technique guide reports that a held item keeps the momentum you are carrying when it is released, so a sprint into the throw stacks with the scroll.

Requirements / limits

  • "Scroll, distance" is the game's own text, read aloud from the throw prompt in a full-release run.
  • The same run reads "scroll for power" while aiming at a cash register for a hole-in-one, and hours later refers to "the scroll toss tech" as an established technique.
  • A separate guide video names the technique Scroll Toss and demonstrates the scroll, the throw and the momentum together.
  • Reported uses are getting ducks into the pit quickly, and moving a gambling crate across the map instead of carrying it.
  • Scrolling also works while placing rather than throwing. One run scrolls a chute in and out to seat it, which is the same control doing placement rather than range.

Common mistakes

  • Throwing at the default distance and concluding the throw is weak.
  • Throwing from a standstill, which discards the momentum half of the technique.
  • Throwing a gambling crate across the map. The guide that recommends the move also warns the crate may break.

Still unverified

  • Does the throw upgrade in the terminal change scroll range, throw force, or both? Not verifiedOne run buys an upgrade it describes as increasing throw and then asks out loud how good the throw is, without measuring before or after. No source compares the two states.
